Teen Mom Amber Portwood gets some fresh air on her hotel balcony on April 7, 2011 in Los Angeles, CA.
Amber Portwood is finally getting out of jail. But she isn't going to the destination she hoped for.
Amber was accepted into drug treatment program as part of her plea bargain to avoid prison time for a drug possession charge. But the judge in her case also ordered her to live at a halfway house called Sister 2 Sister Ministries, instead of staying with her grandparents.
"I understand you’ve been in jail for awhile, and you’re frustrated," judge David Happe told a disappointed Amber.
"But the last thing we want to do is release you and have you commit another offense.
At Sister 2 Sister, Amber will be able to come and go as she pleases, as long as she adheres to a 10 p.m. curfew. The judge said her time there would be determined by how well she does in the drug treatment program.
As part of that program, Amber will undergo dailing screenings and attend drug court every week. If she fails, she will serve five years in prison, as the judge reminded her.
We're keeping our fingers crossed that Amber can make it through!
