Breaking: Teen Mom Amber Portwood Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
It's a very sad day for troubled Teen Mom star Amber Portwood, who's been sentenced today to five years in prison by an Indiana judge.
Amber has traveled a rocky road to this point. After getting arrested in December for drug possession and parole violations, Amber was sentenced in February to five years behind bars.
At the time, she negotiated a plea deal that allowed her to stay out of prison, if she completed a drug rehab program.
Unfortunately, Amber quit the program, and asked to be incarcerated instead.
The judge refused her lawyer's request for leniency on the sentence, but did give her credit for time already served and said he will refer her to a prison treatment program.
Poor Leah Shirley. Our hearts are breaking for her and Amber's whole family.
