Teen Mom's most adorable couple, Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra, are hot off the heels of filming VH1's Couples Therapy, and now they're back to doing what they do best: going on public speaking tours to educate teens on their adoption story.
Cate and Ty recently spoke to a crowd of their peers at Cloud State University in Minnesota, where they chatted about the reason they placed their daughter, Carly, for adoption.
"I wanted her to have better than what I had," Catelynn said. "And if I would have parented her, she would have exactly what I had. And I didn't want that for her. So that's why I really just searched and found a family who could provide something one hundred times better for her than I could at that time."
Carly currently lives with her adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis, but she sees Catelynn and Tyler on the regular thanks to their open adoption agreement.
"In retrospect, we are glad that they were part of the show,” Brandon told LifeLines Magazine back in October 2012. “We are thankful that it has really given Catelynn and Tyler great purposes in life. Catelynn and Tyler have told their story, and it has changed lives. We hope and pray that it has saved lives too."
There's no doubt that Catelynn and Tyler's inspirational adoption story has helped educate teens about alternative options for an unplanned pregnancy. Keep up the good work, you two!
