Celebrities Announce Their Pregnancies at Awards Shows: Too Cute or Tacky?
At the 2011 MTV VMAs, Beyonce Knowles dropped her mic, grinned, and rubbed her stomach. The glowing mommy-to-be had just announced her first pregnancy before bringing the house down with her song, “Love on Top.”
The crowd cheered and audiences across the country tweeted and shared videos of the momentous occasion up until baby Blue Ivy Carter was born in January.
Fast forward to a year later, when rapper Wiz Khalfia helped fiancée Amber Rose strut down the 2012 VMA red carpet. Clutching her growing baby bump, Amber claimed to have a “surprise” for fans.
“We’re expecting a beautiful little baby, me and Amber, and we’re so excited,” gushed Wiz.
