Huge update, Teen Mom 2 fans! Jenelle Evans's estranged husband Courtland Rogers was indeed telling the truth when he tweeted about his latest legal woes. The 27-year-old Confederate flag enthusiast is currently in police custody at the Brunswick County Sheriff's office, facing at least one count of assault against a female!

When Wetpaint Entertainment initially reached out to the Brunswick County Sheriff's office the morning of March 6, they said there was no record of Courtland being at their facility in the past 24-48 hours. But the tide quickly turned when they contacted us just moments later with a much different statement:

"Looks like he has indeed been taken into custody as of today and it looks like the charges are one count assault on a female," Brunswick County Sheriff's spokesperson Emily Flax confirmed. He was arrested on March 5, 2013 and then officially booked on March 6 at 11:34 a.m.

Let's rewind a bit. Back in January, Jenelle Evans filed four counts of domestic abuse against Courtland, including assault on an unborn child (Jenelle later miscarried). Courtland and Jenelle split up shortly after, and Courtland skipped town, presumably to escape the charges.

But now that he's back in good ol' North Carolina, his past (and the po-po) seems to have caught up with him. When we spoke to Jenelle's lawyer Dustin Sullivan last month, he said Courtland had not yet been served with the warrants, but if convicted he could face up to 150 days in prison for each charge. Yikes!

Stay tuned to Wetpaint Entertainment as more details of Courtland's arrest roll in! And in the meantime, we'll be tattooing "Free Courtland" on our lower backs.
