Even though Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans and her hubby, Courtland Rogers, are back together, the two appeared in court today to address the six counts of assault Jenelle filed against her man back in January. With his wife by his side, Courtland pleaded guilty to two counts of assault — one against Jenelle and one against their unborn child — and received a 2-year probation sentence, according to Jenelle's lawyer Dustin Sullivan.
In late January, Jenelle and Courty got into a heated fight that became physical and ended with Jenelle walking out on Courtland and falling back into the arms of ex-fiancé, Gary Head. Jenelle, who was about 7-weeks pregnant, miscarried and checked into a rehab facility not too long after. Jenelley and her boo reconnected after she checked out of rehab and the two have since been working on living a sober life together.
When news spread that Courtland was not only arrested, but would also have to face a judge, fans expected the Teen Mom 2 star to drop the charges against her husband. But Jenelle’s lawyer told Wetpaint Entertainment that the state of North Carolina retained authority to proceed with the charges.
We still find it a bit odd that Courty pleaded guilty to the assault — especially when Jenelle denied that he even abused her!
"When did those words EVER come out of my mouth?" Jenelle tweeted to a fan, adding "I didn't falsify anything, lol I'm not dumb." She later went on to tweet “Assault could mean many things."
Hmm ... it’s obvious the judge didn’t see things Jenelle’s way, but that’s OK. Jenelle’s going to stand by her man and show the world she loves him.
