There's no denying that Teen Mom's Farrah Abraham has had it rough. Not only did she get pregnant as an sixteenager, her boyfriend died before their baby was born, and she's had a series of explosive fights with her parents.

It's no wonder that Farrah struggles with depression, and in a new interview with In Touch, she admits that she contemplated taking her life. “All I could think about was killing myself,” she says. “I figured I would drown myself in the bathtub — that seemed like the easiest way to go.”

Farrah tried to numb her pain with drugs and alcohol, but nothing would do the trick. "When I drank, I’d be happy for 10 minutes,” she explains. “When I got high, I’d feel a sense of nothingness for about an hour. But in the end, my negative emotions always came rushing back.”

Obviously, Farrah is safe and sound, but she went so far as to imagine the suicide not she'd leave Sophia. “I pictured telling her that I missed her daddy, and that I felt overwhelmed by the changes in my life,” Farrah explained, “and that she deserved the best and should be surrounded by happiness.”

The greatest happiness in Sophia's life is her momma's love, so thank goodness Farrah got the help she needs. “I realized I was being selfish. The most important thing is making sure that [Sophia’s] well taken care of — how am I going to do that if I’m dead?” Farrah says. “Therapy helped me manage my emotions. I was diagnosed with clinical depression, so I truly needed medication and frequent sessions with a counselor to get back on track.”

Thank goodness! Farrah's shocking revelation doubtless comes as a huge surprise to fans, and you can learn more about what she went through when her book, My Teenage Dream Ended, hits Amazon on August 14.
