Teen Mom's Amber Portwood is currently serving out a 5-year prison sentence at the Rockville Correctional Facility in Indiana, where she lives in a dorm-style jail with 1,100 other women. The good news? Amber is allowed to visit with her baby daddy, Gary, and their daughter, Leah!
“She now has visitation rights and can see her daughter," Douglas S. Garrison, Chief Communications Officer of Indiana Department of Correction, told Hollywood Life. "There is a family visiting area center which has books and toys."
The bad news? Gary won't allow Leah to visit her mom. "I haven't been able to say to her, 'Mommy's in jail,'" Gary told In Touch. "When I tried to tell her … she got upset. So I've said, 'Mommy's at work,' or 'Mommy's on vacation.'"
Gary claims that Rockville's paperwork is preventing him from visiting Amber, but the facility says all he needs is a ID and birth certificate, and BOOM — one big happy family!
We understand why Gary would be hesitant about exposing Leah to the harsh realities of her mom's life, but what about poor Amber? This gal definitely doesn't deserve to sit in jail without visits from her family — do you think Gary is out of line?
