Teen Mom's Amber Portwood recently began a five-year stint in the clink after opting out of her drug court program, and we have no idea how she's going to get through it. Poor Amber has only herself to blame (she asked to be put in jail), but she's determined to make the most of her time behind bars.
"I'm going to take some classes, I'm going to get my GED, take as many programs as I can," she told ABC in a jailhouse interview. "You know, just try to better myself for when I do get out and not stay in prison. [...] I'll be off the drugs, I'll have an education to get me a job, you have to think of the positives in this negative story."
Luckily, if Amber keeps up the good behavior, she could be eligible for parole — which means her five-year jail sentence will be cut in half. She may even be able to cut another 30 days off her incarceration if she completes the on-site drug rehabilitation program.
Five years is a mighty long time to wear an orange jumpsuit, but hey — at least she'll be able to get her GED!
