Time to clutch your pearls and drown your sorrows in a vat of Alfredo sauce, Teen Mom 2 fans. Tonight's episode — the much-hyped Season 4 finale — could be the last time we see Jenelle Evans, Kailyn Lowry, Chelsea Houska, and Leah Messer on our small screens. The horror!
According to insiders, MTV is officially halting production on Season 5, a decision that may have been facilitated by Jenelle Evans's recent brush with the law. On April 23, Jenelle was arrested in North Carolina for heroin possession, along with a slew of other charges, when a fight between the 21-year-old and her husband Courtland Rogers got physical.
Jenelle's been in her fair share of trouble throughout the years, with some of her lowest moments captured by MTV's cameras. But her latest arrest (numero eight, for anyone who's counting) takes things to a whole new level. Police found 12 bindles of heroin in Jenelle's car, charging her with felony possession with the the intent to sell, manufacture, or distribute.
The New York Post first reported that Teen Mom 2's future could be in jeopardy a few months back, and now sources are telling E! News that Jenelle's latest incident has sealed the deal. "This ruined any chance of a Season 5," the insider said, adding that the show's fate hinged solely on Jenelle's sobriety.
Meanwhile, Jenelle maintains that she's clean and her lawyer Dustin Sullivan assured Wetpaint Entertainment that "the truth will come out."
MTV did not reply when we reached out for comment.
