The Internet is breaking (along with our hearts) in the wake of Teen Mom Farrah Abraham's foray into the wonderful world of adult films. The 21-year-old admitted to shooting a pornographic movie with notorious porn legend James Deen on April 7, but there's more to the story than meets the eye...
While Farrah claims the flick was intended for her personal scrapbook and nothing more, insiders say it was meant to look like a private sex tape that was "accidentally leaked," à la Kim Kardashian. According to James, with whom Wetpaint Entertainment spoke exclusively, the production company tried to set up an elaborate scheme in which Farrah and James would pose as a couple and be spotted out on dates.
Farrah was obviously game for whatever, but James? Not so much. In fact, he actually tried to talk her people out of the whole thing!
Read on for James's side of the story, and be sure to check our first interview with the 27-year-old porn star, where he talks condoms and birth control.
Wetpaint Entertainment: You've been pretty tight-lipped about the actual sex scene you filmed with Farrah. What details can you reveal?
I can say whatever I want to, it's not like I have any legal restrictions in any way, shape, or form. The reason why I haven't told everyone everything is that I have respect for other people. I'd want my privacy respected so I'm trying to respect everyone else's. You know, like the companies and the individuals involved. I'd want to make sure they're not offended or hurt personally.
In addition to that, the reason this whole thing started is that somebody took a picture of her [Farrah] and I coming out of her hotel room and the conversation became, "Hey, James, we saw you and this chick. Are you dating?" I said, "No." It was, "What were you doing then?" I said, "Shooting a porno." That turned into this whole, "James Deen spills the beans!" I didn't really spill the beans — people asked what we were doing.
But wasn't it supposed to be this big ploy, that her sex tape was "accidentally leaked"? If that's true, you kinda did spill the beans.
I was approached to do this, and I was like, "I'm the worst person to do this." Not to be arrogant, but if you're watching pornos and I'm in it — even if I try to pretend I'm not me — people are gonna know it's me. I'm a public person, especially in the adult film world. On the street, people might not recognize me, but if you're going to watch a porno and you're into porno, it's like, “Hey, there's that porn guy!" I told them I'm not the right person to cast for this.
For days before this whole thing, I said this is exactly what's going to happen. There was this whole scheme — you guys can go out on a date and we'll take pictures and pretend you're dating — and I said absolutely not. I have no desire to participate in any kind of that publicity. And I told them, someone is gonna see this and be like, "Oh, that's James Deen," and someone's gonna call me and say, "Hey man, what's up with this chick," and I'm gonna say, "We shot a porno and that's the end of it." I'm not going to say I'm dating someone I'm not dating, like when I was hanging out with Lindsay Lohan. I was like, no, we're just making a movie together! It's not a porno, it's a movie called The Canyons.
So the reason there's not this big hoopla from the people involved is because, this was kind of inevitable. She's got quasi celebrity and I've got quasi celebrity, and when both of our quasi celebrities are at the same place at the same time, someone's gonna take a picture of us and send it to TMZ. There was this whole strategy and it blew up in their faces.
People are saying this whole thing was Farrah's idea...
I don't think this whole thing was her idea. I think she was solicited to do a movie and said OK and then did a movie. I don't think she sat at home and was like, "I think I know what I'm gonna do!" I don't think she was planning on it. I think she was booked for a scene. She signed a model release and she got paid. I don't think she was aspiring to create this sex tape. I think it was something that was presented to her. But I really have no idea what happened on her end.
Have you and Farrah talked since this whole media sh*tstorm happened?
We've had some text messages back and forth, but I don't know the girl so there's not much to talk about.
Does she seem upset that you blew her game?
I can't speak for how other people feel...
Has she expressed to you that she's unhappy with how it's gone down?
TMZ expressed to me that she was. They called me and were like, "Hey, are you gonna start a fight with her?!" I'm like, no, I have nothing bad to say. I think there's a lot of misunderstanding. I have no idea … I just don't want to get into stupid petty arguments over the Internet and he-said-she-said. I'm not going to perpetuate that kind of behavior.
Meanwhile, Farrah recently told TODAY she's "very disappointed" with James and wants nothing to do with him ever again. Ouch! Read her side of the story here.
