We were slightly shocked when Jenelle Evans moved in with her boyfriend, Josh, after only a week of dating. What could have possibly been going through girlfriend's mind?!
"I think why I rushed moving out into Josh's house so quickly is because I didn't want to be in my mom's house because you know, me and her argued all the time and Jace didn't need to be around that," she explains during MTV's Teen Mom 2 After Show. "So I figured if I got into a better environment, Jace would be able to come there and visit me there rather than at my mom's."
Luckily, Jenelle and Barbara have a much better relationship now that they live under separate roofs. "Once I moved out, I found out me and my mom got along so much better," she says. "It was a weight off my shoulders, and I'm sure it was a weight off hers. I think it was better for both of us to be in separate houses because we both had a lot of stress on each other. I always blame my mom for our fights, but I know it's both of our faults."
Despite the fact that Jenelle and her mom get along better, they still have disagreements –– especially when it comes to Jace's schedule.
"Even though my mom has custody of Jace, it was really hard for me to go to school and get a job, and then my mom, she'll just call me out of the blue and be like 'oh, can you take Jace to the doctor?'" Jenelle says. "Then I have to drop everything I'm doing, drive 45 minutes to my mom's house, do that. So everything is more complicated because you always have to have that opportunity of space in case something ever happens to your child unexpectedly."
Sounds like Jenelle still has a tough time balancing motherhood with the rest of her responsibilities, but the good news? Jace is happy as a clam!
"He has my mother, and he has me, and he has my stepdad, and you know everything in my life right now is stepping up and being positive, and I'm just looking forward to the future," Jenelle said.
