Jenelle Evans has been arrested more times than we can count on our fingers and toes, but the Teen Mom 2 star is finally on the right track. After bouts with drug addiction and emotional breakdowns stemming from bipolar disorder, Jenelle is looking ahead to a future that doesn't involve more rehab.

"I've been sober for eight months now, and I live in my own place that's not too far from my mom's house," the 20-year-old told Wetpaint Entertainment in an exclusive interview at MTV Studios in New York City.

Back in August 2011, Jenelle was arrested when she violated her probation stemming from a 2010 arrest for breaking and entering and drug possession. At the time of the arrest, she tested positive for marijuana and opiates.

The drama continued for Jenelle in January 2012, when she was arrested for "communicating threats" to her former roommate Hannah Inman, and just a few days later was busted for violating a "domestic protection" order.

March 2012 brought more legal troubles when she was taken to jail after her former boss filed cyberstalking charges — an offense that landed her in the slammer for 30 days — and then again in June, when she and then-fiance Gary Head were arrested for drug possession

Jenelle's lawyer Dustin Sullivan said that no drugs were found on Jenelle at the time of the arrest, and all of the charges against her were subsequently dropped in August 2012

So what inspired the North Carolina native to clean up her act and kick her addiction habit once and for all? None other than fellow Teen Mom star Amber Portwood, who is currently serving a 5-year prison sentence for violating her probation and opting out of court-ordered rehab for her addiction to opiates.

"I look at Amber Portwood and she was on probation the same time I was before I went to jail, and I was straightening up and sobering up and passing my drug test, all I kept hearing was that she was failing her drug test and getting into more trouble," Jenelle recalled.

"And that just gave me — it sounds kind of mean in a way — but it gave me motivation to do better. To get the motivation to say, OK, even though she's doing that, I'm doing good and I'm going to stay on the right track."
