Remember that time Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans married her boyfriend of two months in a quickie courthouse ceremony on Dec. 4, 2012? Well now it seems like Jenelle's experiencing a bout of buyer's remorse in the wake of her arrest for heroin possession and simple assault, and reveals that she plans to divorce Courtland Rogers ASAP!
When a fan inquired about the status of their relationship, noting that in North Carolina you must be separated for one year before you can file divorce papers, Jenelle responded, "That is correct :( FML."
This isn't the first time Jenelle has considered leaving her 27-year-old hubby. Back in January, Jenelle pressed assault charges against Courty (to which he pleaded guilty), and the pair were estranged for more than a month. They got back together in March, and things seemed to be going well until April 23, when police showed up after a fight turned physical. Courtland was also booked on assault charges, in addition to felony heroin possession, and he remains in jail on $50,000 bond.
When Wetpaint Entertainment spoke to Jenelle's lawyer Dustin Sullivan back in January, he confirmed that North Carolina state law mandates couples be separated for one year before divorce papers can be filed. He also said it's unlikely Jenelle and Courtland will qualify for annulment. Sigh … looks like these two are bound (at least on paper) until 2014.
If we were Jenelle, we'd spend the next 365 days getting (and staying!) clean and working towards getting Jace back. But that's just us.
