The Teen Mom ladies tend to be an uber-religious bunch, but Kailyn Lowry? Not so much. This gal has been more than open about her lack of interest in The Man Upstairs, and she's faced a lot of judgement for her atheist beliefs — especially now that she's about to get married.
Will Kailyn bite the bullet and agree to say "I do" in a church for the sake of her religious fiance, Javi Marroquin?
"I wasn't brought up in church, I'm atheist, so I just prefer to stay away from that," Kailyn recently told Wetpaint Entertainment during an exclusive interview at MTV's Times Square studios. "I think I would be open-minded to having a ceremony in a church along with one for myself, just for his [Javi's] family. But I wouldn't want to just have a church wedding."
Sounds reasonable to us, but Kailyn's open-minded beliefs haven't stopped Twitter backlash from her fans.
"I just like to think everyone believes what they believe," she explained. "I don't judge someone for being Catholic, and I don't judge someone for believing in aliens. I kind of expect the same, but when they're not so open-minded I just brush it off. At the end of the day, they're not paying my bills, they're not taking care of my son. And just like everyone else, I'm going to let Isaac experience different things. If he wants to believe something different than me, great."
Wow, Kailyn is so easy going! Isaac is one lucky boy.
