Farrah Abraham and her mother, Debra Danielson, often clash over how to raise baby Sophia, but things got way out of hand the night of January 16, 2010. That evening, in the middle of a heated argument, Barbara allegedly grabbed Farrah by the throat and then hit her on the head and mouth, all while Sophia watched and cried. Way to set an example, Deb.

Amber Portwood’s ex-fiance Gary Shirley was arrested in Indiana on May 24, 2011, for driving with a suspended license. (Amber was with him at the time, and — surprise, surprise! — the arresting officer pulled them over because they were fighting.) To add insult to injury, the cops needed to use two sets of handcuffs on the big fella.

Leah and Corey's quickie marriage... and quicker divorce

A mere six months after tying the knot with baby daddy Corey Simms in the Season 1 finale of Teen Mom 2, Leah Messer filed for divorce in April 2011. It wasn’t exactly shocking, since their relationship moved faster than the speed of light: They had only been dating for one month when Leah found out she was pregnant, and they broke up right after she gave birth to twin girls... because she cheated on him with an ex. They got back together six months later, and then moved in together and got engaged in swift succession. On top of that, Corey (a water distribution operator — what woman can resist that?) was allegedly messing around on the side. Naughty, naughty!

Kailyn's ex — up in smoke

Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry has another reason to be happy she’s no longer with Isaac’s baby daddy. (He may be a patient, loving father, but he and Kailyn were not a good couple.) On February 16, 2011, Jonathan “Jo” Rivera and his brother were arrested in New Jersey for smoking weed while driving. Half-baked plan number one: Not using protection. Half-baked plan number two: Hotboxing the car... and getting caught.

Amber's volatile personality

After resorting to violence in multiple televised (thanks, MTV!) fights with her ex-fiance/baby daddy Gary Shirley, Amber Portwood found herself behind bars on December 28, 2010, arrested for domestic battery and neglect of a dependent. She spent one night in jail and was prevented from having any contact with Gary until February 2011.

Amber made her June 9, 2011, court date and pleaded guilty to two counts of felony domestic battery. The judge dropped her two-year sentence and the no-contact order that prevented her from seeing Gary when Leah wasn’t present, instead placing Amber on two years’ probation.

Despite the light sentence, Amber became depressed and threatened suicide on June 14, 2011. Gary supported Amber after her subsequent hospitalization, which turned into a taped (thanks, MTV!) stint in a Malibu rehab center. She's now out — and she and Gary are officially dunzo.

Teen motherhood and scandal go hand-in-hand, much like peanut butter and jelly... only not nearly as delicious. But when cameras are thrown into the mix, placing a premium on drama, “scandal” takes on a whole new meaning.

Jenelle's many run-ins with the law

Jenelle Evans has probably spent more time with the police than with her own son. Too harsh? Perhaps. After getting arrested on October 15, 2010, for breaking and entering and drug possession, the Teen Mom 2 star (who was with her ex-boyfriend Kieffer Delp at the time) was eventually found guilty only of possession of drug paraphernalia; she was sentenced to 12 months’ supervised probation and a monthly drug and alcohol test on April 14, 2011. Prosecutors dropped the drug possession and breaking-and-entering charges, and they also dropped the paraphernalia charge after Jenelle completed a court-mandated 24 hours of community service.

Jenelle entered rehab on May 12, but she didn’t leave her problems at the Malibu facility. The troubled teen mom (oxymoron?) tested positive for marijuana and opiates when she met with her parole officer on August 8. A court date was set for August 24, 2011, but it was pushed back to September 28 to allow her to continue to get better.

Her lengthy rap sheet also includes a March 2011 arrest for beating up a girl on video, but she got off easy with 30 days suspended jail time, 12 months probation, a $100 fine, mandatory anger management courses, and 24 hours of community service.

Ex-friends claim she enjoys stirring up drama whenever and wherever possible.
