Sad news, you guys. A teenage mom in North Carolina reportedly got into a bad car wreck that not only injured her son, but killed her friend. Before you dive off the deep end, the accident does not involve Teen Mom’s Farrah Abraham (who was recently arrested for a DUI), nor Oak Island Teen Mom 2 star, Jenelle Evans. However, the tragedy is about 18-year-old Sydney McDaniel, who lost control of her car on April 3 and hit a tree.

Witnesses say that they heard the car screeching around the corner before they saw the crash. Two guys, Juan Ventura and Jamie Diaz, saw the vehicle collide into the tree and immediately ran to help. Thank goodness!

Sydney’s friend, Martha Rosales, a sophomore at Rocky River High School, died in the crash. The witnesses say that it looks like the 15-year-old attempted to shield Sydney’s 11-month-old son. The toddler may have suffered a broken leg and is still in treatment while another passenger, Toni Ann Williams, was treated and released.

Martha was supposed to go shopping with her brother, Diego, that day, but opted to tag along with Sydney. When Diego drove along the street, he noticed Sydney’s car and called his sister by no one answered.

Sydney is charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, underage drinking, child neglect, marijuana possession and having a fictitious tag on her vehicle. Martha’s brother said that Sydney should’ve known better than to be so reckless.

"She wanted to still act like she didn't have a kid," he said. Let’s keep that in mind folks — drinking and driving is always a bad idea.
