You Asked, We Answered!
Teen Mom's Amber Portwood is currently behind bars at the Rockville Correctional Facility in Indiana, serving a 5-year sentence after failing to complete a drug rehab program — a requirement stemming from her earlier arrests for drug possession and parole violations in December 2011.
A few weeks ago, Amber sat down with Dr. Drew for an exclusive jailhouse interview to set the record straight about her sentence — which she voluntarily elected instead of returning to rehab. Much to our surprise and delight, Amber looked happier, healthier, and more cognizant than ever.
Friends and family close to Amber say that the mother of 4-year-old Leah is doing spectacularly well, and is participating in a number of classes and activities at the correctional facility. Some even speculate that the MTV starlet could be released early for good behavior.
But as of now, it looks like Amber will be a free woman as of June 2017 — exactly five years after entering prison.
