Why Does Farrah Abraham Call Her Dad Michael?

While most of us call our fathers, "Dad" or "Daddy," Teen Mom Farrah Abraham calls the man who fathered her, "Michael." But why? He's not her Pilates instructor, he's her dad! As is so often the case withTeen Moms, the answer is complicated.

Farrah has a half sister who calls Michael Abraham by his first name. So, to keep things fair, Farrah once explained, she calls her father "Michael" when they are with the whole family. But when she's with her dad one-on-one, she calls him, "Dad." As the ever-sensitive Farrah explained, "I just understand to be aware of other people's feelings and touchy subjects."

But when Farrah appeared on Dr. Drew's TV show, she had another explanation and it's not pretty. "It's hard to call your parents 'mom' and 'dad' when you've lost respect for them," she told the small screen shrink. Farrah said that her parents fought constantly when she was growing up and the experience took a toll.

We're looking on the bright side: at least she has a relationship with her dad — er, her Michael.
