Teresa Giudice’s ‘Teresa Checks In’ a Ratings Disappointment
It’s been almost a year since we saw Teresa Giudice last, so you’d think Real Housewives of New Jersey fans would be chomping at the bit for an update on the star — except, according to the ratings, that’s not the case!
The three-part Bravo special, Teresa Checks In, premiered Sunday, October 11 touting a look inside the life of the reality star since her January incarceration for fraud. Only problem? The episode didn’t actually feature the Jersey gal — just her voice! And it seems that may be way it struggled.
The special only snagged 1.23 million viewers in its debut, according to TVbytheNumbers, which may sound like a lot, but considering the lowest performing season of RHONJ (last year’s Season 6) brought in a 2.1 million audience, that’s not a great showing. Are people losing interest in Tre?
It could be that, or maybe, like we said, it’s because the Housewife only appeared via phone calls to her family, leaving most of the episode to focus on her (fairly unliked) husband Joe Giudice and four daughters. Or there’s also the fact that Keeping Up With the Kardashians aired in the same time slot (snagging 1.7 million viewers).
While we’ll have to wait and see how next week’s part two performs, we’re even more curious if this dip could affect Teresa’s reported $1 million potential paycheck for Season 7, which would take effect when the reality star is released this December and filming kicks into gear at the start of the year.
Not sure if they’re listening but, Bravo, we’re totally still tuning in!
Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In airs Sunday, October 18 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
