This April, Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe will go on trial for 41 counts of fraud and, if convicted, they each could face up to 50 years in jail. Clearly, this could have a very big impact on the Real Housewives of New Jersey couple’s four children, ages 13, 9, 6, and 4.
Teresa has made it clear that out of all the children, only her eldest daughter, Gia, has any idea what’s going on. Now, Star Magazine has an interview with Gia, and the 13-year-old is opening up about how the situation has affected her family.
Gia starts off by discussing what it’s like to have her life play out on a reality TV show, which she admits is “not easy.” She tells Star, “When I was younger, I didn’t realize what it was, or what impact it could take on me in the future. But, you know, that’s how I grew up, and I have to take responsibilities for my actions because I am always in the public eye.”
When asked about the legal drama specifically, Gia tells the mag that the whole thing has “obviously” been very “hard for my family” to go through.
“It’s been a difficult time, but it is just making our family closer and even stronger. And my friends at school have been so supportive. I’m really lucky.”
But the teen says her parents have been there for her throughout everything. “They always give me advice, and say, ‘Mommy and daddy are handling it. Everything will be okay.’ They are also very open with me and very supportive. They are very hands-on parents and I feel bad that we have to go through this in public. The good thing is that we are a closer family than ever.”
Are you surprised to hear Gia opening up about this so candidly? Impressed with her attitude? Head down to the comments and share your thoughts.
