Teresa and Joe Giudice Fraud Case: What Did They Spend Their Money On?

Teresa and Joe Giudice are accused of defrauding the government of nearly $5 million via various loans, mortgages, and more. But between The Real Housewives of New Jersey paychecks and Teresa’s numerous best-selling cookbooks (not to mention her Fabellini cocktails!), we know that the couple has made a decent living over the last several years as well.

So this begs the question, exactly where did all of the Giudice’s money go?

RHoNJ viewers know that Teresa loves to spend some dough, even dropping over $120k for furniture for her Montville home in one of the show’s earlier episodes. The mom of four also loves to spoil her daughters, and was prone to taking them on shopping sprees. According to her 2009 bankruptcy filing, Teresa owed nearly $20,000 on credit cards for Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus. Overall, the reality star owed $104,000 on at least eight credit cards.

Last season, viewers also saw Tre buy a ton of Christmas gifts for her girls, despite acknowledging that she and Joe were going through a difficult time financially.

Teresa may not have known everything her hubby was allegedly doing (like forging loan documents and neglecting to pay his taxes from 2004-2008), but she was clearly living above her means.

Are you surprised that Teresa is so careless and clueless with her money?
