Tessanne Chin snagged the win on The Voice this past week but she may have gotten something even more valuable in the process –– advice from Celine Dion! And that nugget of wisdom was about when to start her family.
"She asked me if I was married," Tessanne said during an interview on the Today Show. "I said, 'Yes,' and she asked me if I had kids, and I said, 'No,' and she said, 'Hmm, five years. Wait five years. Get yourself a nice house and stuff first.' I was like, 'OK, Celine said it, I'm gonna do it!'"
The duo got together on the finale to sing a stunning rendition of “Love Can Move Mountains”.
It’s interesting advice in light of what Tessanne told the New York Daily News during a recent interview.
"There's a music side of me and a dreamer, but really I just want to be a wife,” Tessanne admitted.
Even more surprising is she hopes to live on a farm back in Jamaica!
"Not a big farm, but I love animals and the thought of growing my own food," she said.
There’s no comment on what Tessanne’s husband and faithful fan, Michael Cuffe, thinks of Celine’s advice, but we do know that he was super supportive of her win.
"I was laughing at my husband," she said when Savannah Guthrie commented on her funny reaction to winning. "His reaction trumped mine, definitely!"
Kids or not, we know Tessanne is living in pure bliss right now. As she told Carson Daly during the interview, “It's been a whirlwind, but a beautiful one. I'm so happy and just living it up and enjoying every moment."
