We don't get it. Sean Lowe and Catherine Guidici got engaged months ago, and they still aren't married. We know Sean's been super busy wearing leotards and being a virgin, but we need a Bachelor Nation wedding, and we need it, like, yesterday. The good news? You can finally mark your calendars for January 26, 2014 for the big shindig. And even better news? We've rounded up every single detail about Sean and Catherine's upcoming nuptials to give you a taste of what's to come!
The Wedding Will Take Place on Sunday, January 26
Whereas other couples — Trista and Ryan, Jason and Molly, Ashley and JP — got married and aired their weddings a few days later, SeanCat is taking it a step further: They're just gonna show the dang thing in real time. Brave? Yes, but not surprising for a couple that seems so comfortable being themselves.
They're Having an Outdoor Wedding In Santa Barbara!
Sean says that he and Catherine want an "outdoor wedding in the L.A. area." After all, the beginning of their relationship blossomed in the City of Angels, and they lived there post-Bachelor finale, thanks to Sean's stint on Dancing With the Stars.
A source tells Wetpaint Entertainment that the wedding will be "100% in Santa Barbara," and we have our money on one place in particular. At just a couple hours outside of Los Angeles, guests can choose to stay in Santa B or LA.
It Will Be Televised — Live!
Fear not, Bachelor addicts — Sean and Catherine's nuptials are coming to a small screen near you. "I think it's only fitting," Sean explains. "Our relationship was started and created on TV, so we could solidify it there as well."
Lindsay Yenter Could Be In Attendance
Who knows if Sean and Catherine will invite The Bachelor runner-up Lindsay Yenter to their wedding, but she's game if they are! "Of course I would come," Lindsay says. "We have a friendship, so it's great."
Desiree Hartsock Would Love to Come — But Hasn't Been Invited!
We caught up with Des at a recent event, and the gorgeous Season 9 Bachelorette tells Wetpaint, “(Chris Siegfried and I) haven’t been invited yet, but if we are then we will definitely support them and go.”
Catherine's Dad Will Walk Her Down The Aisle
Catherine revealed that her formerly estranged father, Carey Giudici (who had a famously mixed effect on Catherine’s childhood), will most definitely be giving her away. “He will be walking me down the aisle,” she said. “My dad, I love him so much.... I just wanted to reiterate the fact that he is such a part of my life and I love him so much, and I'm excited for him to be part of the wedding.”
Chris Harrison Will NOT Officiate — But Sean's Dad Will!
Bachelor host Chris Harrison might have officiated Ashley Hebert's wedding to her Bachelorette fiance, J.P. Rosenbaum, among other Bachelor Nation nuptials, but he won't be joining Sean and Catherine's hands in marriage. “I doubt Chris will be officiating only because, you know, my dad is an ordained minister, my grandfather is a minister, there is a lot of ministers in line that might supercede Chris Harrison,” Sean explains.
On November 26, Sean confirmed that his dad, Jay Lowe, who we first met on The Bachelorette, will be officiating the ceremony. “I can’t think of a more godly man to conduct the ceremony,” Sean told Life & Style. “My dad has had such a powerful and positive influence on my life, I thought it was only fitting to have him officiate our wedding.”
They've Picked Their Wedding Dance
Sean's Dancing With The Stars pro partner, Peta Murgatroyd, has taught him some fancy footwork in anticipation of his wedding to Catherine Giudici, and it looks like this happy couple will be doing the waltz for their first dance as man and wife! “He'll want a beautiful waltz to be choreographed," Peta says. "He's asked me to do that. We've spoken about that.”
Sean Hasn't Picked a Best Man
Sean tells Wetpaint Entertainment that he has yet to pick a best man for his wedding — despite the fact that the clock is ticking! "I don't know yet," Sean says. "I haven't thought about it yet. I have a lot of good guy friends. So that's going to be a tough one."
The Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties Will Not Be Filmed
Though a big bunch of specials are planned for January, including some time the week before the wedding dedicated to SeanCat, there isn't time for everything. This time around, the Bachelor and Bachelorette parties will not be taped, though a source close to the couple says Catherine is likely taking a group of girls to Miami while Sean is going to hang in a cabin in Wyoming.
The Wedding Will Be a Huge Party
During a recent post-Dancing With The Stars interview, Sean and Catherine revealed a juicy wedding detail: They want a big party!
The Wedding Was Originally Supposed to Be Summer 2013
Sean and Catherine were super busy livin' the life in LA after The Bachelor, and had to push their wedding back. "Probably not during summer,” Sean told Wetpaint Entertainment in spring 2013. “Doing Dancing With the Stars has made things so crazy. We just haven’t had time to figure it out yet." They confirmed their January 26, 2014 wedding date during a GMA appearance.
Catherine Is In Charge
Sean can't wait for his wedding, but there's no denying that Catherine is holding the reins. "When she wants my opinion I'll give my opinion, but I know the wedding's all about the woman," Sean says. Sigh, what a guy.
Their Save the Dates Are the Best Thing of All Time
Zeitgeist references, bear costumes, and hilarious copy? Somebody has a sense of humor! Or, two somebodies, that is. If their relationship is anything like this perfect piece of history, it's going to be the best wedding and love of all time.
They Didn't Start Planning Until Recently!
Despite the fact that they've been engaged for months (which is basically a lifetime in Bachelor Land), Catherine said in May 2013 that she and Sean “haven’t started planning the wedding yet.” Um, tick-tock, lady friend. Those babies don't make themselves. But fear not, fans. With their wedding date set, we can finally put a date on our calendar!
