When we last saw Nate Hartsock, he was making things pretty uncomfortable during sis Desiree’s hometown date with Bachelor Sean Lowe. Sure, he was labeled a jerk for saying he didn’t think Sean was the guy for Des — but five months later, let’s face it: Nate was right. Sean and Desiree weren’t meant to be and now she’s got the chance to meet the real man of her dreams on The Bachelorette. So if you think about it that way, Des has her brother to thank for her fab, new gig!
Which raises the question, now that Desiree is the star of the show, where exactly is her brother dear? Wetpaint can reveal that Nate will pop up not once but twice this season, although we’re going to have to wait several weeks before we get our first fix. In the meantime, however, Wetpaint Entertainment has learned what he’s been up to.
Right after the Bachelor, we’re told Nate graduated bible college. Yes, that’s right, ladies, Nate (who we happen to think is a total cutie) loves the Lord. So much so that after graduation, he moved to San Antonio, Texas to help American Idol’s Cristabel Clack and Cristabel’s husband, Pastor Brandon Clack, with the newly opened Living Waters Community Church. Their mission: Feed the hungry, take in the needy, and do what they can to make a difference in the world.
Hear that, haters? You had Nate pegged all wrong — he’s not a bad guy. A little overprotective of his only sister, but we admire him for it. And we’re even hearing that when he does return to the show, it’s to advise Des, not upset her. That said, we hope Nate throws at least a little shade at some of the suitors who may not be there for the so-called “right reasons.” After all, what are brothers good for if not scaring the daylights out of men who don’t have the best intentions for us?
Bring the drama, Nate. Bring. It.
