On the August 5 episode of The Bachelorette, fans were left reeling and swooning when Desiree Hartsock got engaged to Chris Siegfried on the Season 9 Finale. But even though their engagement was the top story on After the Final Rose, all eyes and minds turned elsewhere when it was announced that Juan Pablo Galavis would be the Bachelor 2014!
Speculation about who would be the next Bachelor had run rampant for weeks, with everyone from fourth place finisher Zak Waddell to Season 8 winner Jef Holm on people’s lips as the next rose doler. But the fifth runner-up made a huge impression on fans with his sexy accent, sense of humor, and position as single father.
And as it turns out, our dreams do come true! E! reported a few weeks ago that Juan Pablo was close to signing as the Bachelor for season 18. And on the After the Final Rose, which happened to be Juan Pablo's 32nd birthday, Juan Pablo came out to talk about his coming reign on the show.
"Fans demanded it," Chris explained as fans lost their minds. "It's interesting," Juan Pablo said, aghast as he looked around, "there's more people here than at Men Tell All." And although Juan Pablo pointed out that he hasn't been jumped by screaming women in his hometown of Miami, we're sure that's about to change.
"Latin people don't watch The Bachelorette," Juan Pablo explained of being left alone. "Well, they will," Chris said. And we could only see a faint hint of fingers crossed...
Will you be watching when Juan Pablo's season of The Bachelor premieres on January 6, 2014? We certainly will... Spanish dictionary in hand.
