Not everyone is mad at Brooks Forester for saying an endless goodbye to the tearful Desiree Hartsock on last night’s part one of The Bachelorette Season 9 finale. Sean Lowe, who has some experience with breaking Des’s heart, offered his support on Twitter.

While Desiree’s fellow Bachelor 17 ladies (including “winner” Catherine Giudici) defended her and bashed Brooks, Sean offered a different perspective, tweeting, “Much respect for Brooks. Not everyone can see beyond the show.”

Truth. Amid all the Brooks hate on Twitter, a few voices like Sean’s were heard supporting Brooks for taking the “journey” seriously and not just pretending he’s in love just because Des is already at the finish line. It’s only been a couple of months, and even though Brooks was there to fall in love, Bachelor Nation has seen couple after couple fall apart because they seemed to force their feelings in the moment, only to find their feelings running cold in the real world.

That said, Brooks really dragged out that goodbye. He cried and vacillated and seemed like he didn't want to stay or go or do much of anything but repeat “I’m sorry.” As Sean tweeted after his own Brooks support, “‘What should I do?’ Probably get in the car and leave bro.” He also shared a photo of a pair of giant Slurpees, writing of himself and Catherine, “We both needed a stiff drink after watching bachelorette. @clmgiudici.”

But what’s going to happen next week? Will Sean still have “much respect for Brooks” if, as some suspect, Brooks turns around after that epic speech and goes back to Des? It will be interesting to read next week’s fan and Bachelor Nation reactions, whatever goes down.
