During tonight’s “After The Final Rose,” we will finally learn the identity of the next season’s Bachelor. Plenty of names have been tossed in the ring as possible contenders for the 2014 Bachelor, and now one of them is taking to Twitter to confirm that he is not — we repeat, not — in the running for the gig.

Sorry to deprive the ladies of those luscious lips, but Bachelorette 2012 runner-up Arie Luyendyk, Jr. won’t be next season’s lead.

On August 5, Arie tweeted, “Tonight they'll announce the next bachelor...I can't tell you who it will be but I'm sorry to tell my followers it won't be me.”

Anyone who saw Emily Maynard’s season knows what a phenomenal kisser Arie is. Seriously, those liplocks are the sort of thing fantasies are made of. But sadly, his looks and kissing skills alone weren’t enough to secure Arie the gig.

“I know many of you would have loved to see me come back and hand out the roses but it wasn't meant to be,” he continued. “Here is to a less complicated love life, thank you for the love and support!”

With Arie out of the running, the top contenders still mostly likely to be 2014 Bachelor are eliminated contestants Bachelorette 2013 Zak Waddell and Juan Pablo Galavis, as well as either of the two men Desiree Hartsock doesn’t end up picking in the finale. Earlier today, Ben Scott also confirmed that he won't be the next Bachelor.

Are you upset to hear that Arie won’t be the 2014 Bachelor, or does this reveal not really surprise you too much? Head down below and sound off.
