Under normal circumstances, the new Bachelor is revealed in the fall with a mid-September announcement on an ABC show like Good Morning America or Dancing with the Stars. This year, however, it was announced nearly a month early — at the August 5 live taping of The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose — that dashing soccer start Juan Pablo Galavis had nabbed the role.
And now, Wetpaint Entertainment has learned why. There was simply no one else in the running. “He was the obvious pick,” a Bachelor insider tells Wetpaint Entertainment.
The reason? “The most important factor in choosing the Bachelor was to find someone truly open to the idea of falling in love. Juan Pablo not only wants to find his soulmate, he’s dedicated to finding a stepmother for his little girl.”
“The show has had great luck with single dads,” the insider continues. “Whether it’s been in the Bachelor role like Jason Mesnick or as contestants like Tony Pieper or Ben Scott — they’ve made real impressions on the viewers.”
Fair enough. But while we’ve no doubt that Juan Pablo’s devotion to daughter Camila that sealed the deal, we don’t think those amazing abs hurt his chances, either!
