Reality TV king Mike Fleiss has been entertaining us for years with the matchmaking hallmark of reality television: The Bachelor franchise. And now it looks like he’s branching out into the music world. No, he’s not getting ready to produce another music video with Soulja Boy — but he might end up discovering the “Right Reasons” rapper’s musical twin as he helms a new MTV music competition show, Copycat.

This new venture was just picked up for an order by the cable network, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 30-minute singing competition, filmed before a studio audience,  will pit contestants against each other to see who sounds the most like a particular recording artist. The audience will then vote to determine whose imitation is closest to the original star, aka the “Ultimate Copycat.”

Copycat has a pretty well pedigreed team of producers — including Mike of course, as well as The Glee Project’s Matt Laesch — so we’re sure this show is going to be an instant hit. Plus, it’ll be nice to put the “M” back into “MTV” (little known fact for the youngs: That used to stand for music!)

Let’s just hope the talent in this singing talent on this show outweighs what we saw during the Bachelor Pad karaoke contest. Because, yikes.
