We are so stoked that Melissa Rycroft and Tye Strickland are blessing the world with another baby. And we’re pretty sure two-year-old Ava is excited, too. But is she getting a baby brother or a baby sister? Well, let’s put it this way: It’s highly unlikely Ava’s new sibling will be wearing her hand-me-downs. (Though if he did, we wouldn’t judge! Do you, baby Strickland.)

Yep, that’s right, folks: It’s a boy! Melissa shared her news with Us Weekly, but not before telling her family, of course. In fact, Melissa chose a super fun way to break the news to her parents and in-laws: cupcakes. During a small get-together with both families, Melissa made cupcakes that revealed the color blue inside. “Ava was the one who ate the cupcake to let everyone know,” Melissa told Us.

Melissa’s “really excited” about having a son, but it sounds like hubby Tye, while pleased with the news, is feeling a little pressure now! “It so funny the first thing out of his mouth was, ‘I feel so much responsibility now!’” Melissa recalls of Tye’s reaction to the news. "I was like, 'Um have you not felt it the past two and a half years?' I guess there's something to be said about the same sex parent taking the bulk of [the responsibility]."

As for whether this is the last baby for the Strickland family, that’s still up in the air. Though Mel said “never again” while in the throes of early pregnancy morning sickness, she’s feeling a little more wishy washy on the issue nowadays. “We always said three was our number, and we may stop at two — or we may keep going!”  What a tease.
