As we’re sure you’ve tattooed on your body by now, Juan Pablo Galavis will kick off his love journey on The Bachelor Season 18 on Monday, January 6. But as we mentioned before, you’ll get a chance to see even more of the Venezuela-raised hunk on Sunday, January 5 in the first part of the two-night special. If that still doesn’t provide enough extra rose petals for you, ABC has just announced that they’ll be taking care of all of your Sundays in January 2014.
On January 5 (8 - 9 p.m. ET/PT), a one-hour special called The Bachelor: Countdown to Juan Pablo will give viewers a “more in-depth look” at JPG. Footage of the sexy Bachelor in Miami will detail his daily life, showing off his family and four-year-old daughter Camila. Since the casting lines were undoubtedly ringing off the hook once the world found out J-P would be the Bachelor, the special will also give a behind-the-scenes look at how the girls are picked for the show. And then, just to help tie it all in to Monday night’s episode, we’ll meet the first few of his 27 ladies.
The following Sunday, January 12 (8 - 9 p.m. ET/PT), we’ll get even more Bachelor buzz with the “Bachelor Bus” on The Bachelor: Behind the Scenes. The special features some premiere viewing party-crashing (though they don’t say from whom), as well as details on what actually happens at Bachelor Mansion. The episode will feature footage of the women moving in after the first Rose Ceremony, which must be quite the feat, after drinking white wine spritzers for seven hours. The building of a “winter wonderland” for Juan Pablo’s first one-on-one date -- as well as info about the lucky lady -- will also get a few valuable minutes.
Then, in case the first two weeks of doubling up ain’t enough for you, January 19 (8 - 9 p.m. ET/PT)’s one-hour special will make you swoon and cry and dream about your own happy ever after. The Bachelor: Bachelor Love Stories will set up SeanCat’s wedding the following week by revisiting some of the franchise’s sweetest love stories. Desiree and Chris, Jason and Molly Mesnick, and Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum will all be featured, as well as other happy pairs that ditched the roses for real life love. In honor of Trista and Ryan Sutter’s ten-year anniversary, a little time will be dedicated to their story -- including a vow renewal ceremony!
And just in case you don’t think you’ll get enough of Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici at their January 26 live wedding, the January 19 special will also show off the franchise’s happiest, cutest, rootin’ tootinest couple around.
Is this overkill on ABC’s part? Will you tune in? Tell us why or why not!
