Bachelor producer Elan Gale’s plane ride home for Thanksgiving turned out to be far icier than any one of the show’s pre-rose ceremony cocktail parties.

The Bachelor favorite who’s never actually appeared on the show got caught up in a note-passing war after he observed a fellow passenger being rude to the airline’s staff.

When the woman repeatedly complained to the US Airways staff about her delayed flight on Thursday, Gale sent over a glass of wine and a note to her seat once the plane had finally taken off.

How sweet, right? Well, not quite…

“Dear Lady in 7A, it has come to my attention that today is your ‘Thanksgiving!’” Elan wrote. “It must be hard not to be with your family! Please accept this glass of wine. It is a gift from me to you. Hopefully if you drink it, you won’t be able to use your mouth to talk! Love, Elan.”

Predictably, the “Lady in 7A” was less-than-amused.

“Dear ‘Elan,’” the woman wrote back. “The wine wasn’t funny. The vodka wasn’t funny. You’re an awful person with no compassion. I’m sorry for your family that they should have to deal with you. -Diane.”

After that, things got downright ugly… or well, uglier.

“Dear ‘Diane,’” Elan wrote back. “Thank you for your lovely note. The person who lacks compassion is you. We all want to get home, particularly the nice men and women who fly your lazy ass around and serve you drinks (you’re welcome!). Next time you’re in a bad mood, stay home. I hate you very much. Eat my d-ck. Love, ‘Elan.’”

Diane passed back yet another note after that, alerting Elan that she’d be “speaking to the authorities when we land.”

When the plane landed, however, Diane resorted to action of a different type.

“Well, ‘Diane’ just slapped me,” Elan tweeted upon arrival. “When I got off the plane I waited for her at the gate. I was holding another note in my hand and I was going to give it to her. She walked right up to me and slapped me immediately in the face.”

When asked by the gate agent if he wanted airport police to intervene, Elan said no and instead took to his Tumblr to further explain the ‘Diane’ incident.

“What I did today was just point out something we all know: Be nice. It’s Thanksgiving. Be nice. Be nice everyday, but if you see a man or a woman working on a holiday you better respect that they would like to be with their family too,” Elan wrote. “Most people do. Most people are great. And then there are a bunch of Diane’s in the world. And it’s OUR job to tell every Diane to shut up.”

What do you think about Elan’s plane ride battle? Do you think Diane deserved the notes or was he being unfair? Let us know your thoughts about the hilarious battle in the comments below!
