In Episode 3, Juan Pablo Galavis is really putting the “lover” in the Latin Lover stereotype we’ve all happily bestowed upon the Season 18 Bachelor. The newest promo for the January 20 episode makes it seem like he gets down and flirty with, ummmmm everyone, and we’re barely exaggerating.
The promo starts out with a bunch of loving between Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried, Trista and Ryan Sutter, and features a little of Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici’s wedding suite. Or, as they like to call it, the “Consummation Station” (which we’re pretty sure they stole from Janet Snakehole). It’s all in preparation for the one-hour January 19 The Bachelor: Love Stories special, airing Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and SeanCat’s wedding the week after.
But back in real time on The Bachelor, Juan Pablo takes some poor unsuspecting girl bungee jumping off a bridge, and then makes her dance to country music. Look, we know that there’s plenty of salsa in Texas, but watching Juan Pablo two-step is kinda harshing our mellow. Luckily, the girl on the date — Chelsie Webster — seems cool with it, making her much nicer than we are. Especially since it's obvious that she's being forced not only to wear a harness at awful angles, but also to test fate while Juan Pablo wears cut off jean shorts. She'd better get a freaking rose.
On his other solo date, with then-21-year-old mom Cassandra Ferguson, someone again let’s Juan Pablo behind the wheel, and lets him drive directly into the water. It’s like that time Des drove to an abandoned bridge in L.A., but actually ends well. They make out, and it’s probably not just because the man has a car that can drive in water.
