You know what they say about attraction: if the spark is there in the beginning, it can only get hotter. OK, so we don’t know who said that, other than us just now, but Juan Pablo Galavis is proving it regardless with this week’s The Bachelor ratings!

Following a strong showing for Sean and Catherine’s wedding the previous night — which brought in over 6 million viewers — Juan Pablo showed that drama sometimes trumps romance, at least as far as rose-loving viewers are concerned. While Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici captivated us on Sunday, January 26, JPG and his gaggle of gals K-popping in Korea locked up the win.

The January 27 installment of The Bachelor Season 18 roped in a 2.5 rating with a 7 share in the 8 to 10 p.m. timeslot on Monday night. According to TV by the Numbers, 8.61 million viewers flipped on the boobtube to watch JPG hard pass on kissing a handful of gals before breaking his own rule two minutes later with Clare Crawley.

And not only did Juan Pablo beat the most sexual innuendo-filled night of television we’ve ever seen (if you’re reading this, SeanCat are definitely doing it), his international stopover also beat his premiere! Well, sort of…

Whereas the January 6 kick-off pulled in 200,000 fewer viewers (8.4 to the January 27 8.61), it did score a higher rating — 2.7 vs. 2.5 — meaning, more viewers fell in that coveted 18-49 demo that advertisers love spending money on.

The take home message? As the girls fall in love with Juan Pablo — and as we get to the point where we can distinguish one pretty face from another — it’s possible audiences will swoon right alongside ‘em, and the ratings will follow.
