Who needs Juan Pablo Galavis’s approval? Proving that El Bachelor may have not fully appreciated how lucky he was to choose from his 27 suitors, Kelly “Dog Lover” Travis and Christy Hansen — two of his Season 18 rejectees — participated in a charity date auction this week. And you’ll never believe how much someone ponied up for a night on the town with them! Seriously, prepare to be shocked.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society organized a charity date auction in Atlanta on April 10, with the proceeds going to blood cancer research. The participants were some of Atlanta’s “most beautiful people,” according to the event’s poster. And that included not only the lovely and all-around awesome Kelly and Chicago-based pal Christy but also Miss Georgia 2013 Carly Mathis.

Kelly and Christy were auctioned off as a two-for-the-price-of-one package, and as you might have guessed, there was a lot of interest in the pair. Translation: Tightwads need not apply. When the bidding was all said and done, Kelly sounded amazed by how much the winner had agreed to pay. “Apparently a date with us goes for $10,000 #nbd #fkcancer @christyhansen_,”  Kelly tweeted that evening.

Hear that, Juan Pabs? Some dude was willing to part with five figures just to spend a few hours chatting with two women who didn’t even get a one-on-one. Just sayin’. But above all, we admire everyone involved for helping raise so much moolah for such a great cause. Long story short: this appears to have been the most dramatic charity date auction ever.

Are you surprised that a date with Kelly and Christy cost so much? Or do you think it’s money well spent?
