Rumors have been swirling for a while now that Andi Dorfman cast off, Chris Soules, has some stiff competition in the race for the lead in Bachelor Season 19. Fan favorite from Emily Maynard’s season, Arie Luyendyk, Jr., has been getting some recognition as a possible viable candidate, and now his campaign for the position has been made official! Double swoon. ABC can’t go wrong with either of these handsome gents.
Arie himself took to Twitter to acknowledge his play for title of rose giver, tweeting “No hiding it anymore! Would love to share my journey with all of you, but it's up to #bachelornation. Open, hopeful and more than ready.” His tweet refers to a recent article in Us Weekly that outed him as a Bachelor short lister. The article quotes an insider as saying the 32-year-old runner up on The Bachelorette Season 8 has “already had his packages shot and they even got him a trainer so he could buff up and be camera ready with his shirt off.” Yes please!
But the kissing bandit hasn’t been picked for the role yet. Another insider claims "Chris is still on the short list to be the next Bachelor and no decisions have been made." We’ve made no secret that we adore Chris and his dimples, but we can also make the case for Arie being the next lead man. Hot and successful with lips that made Emily weak in the knees... need we go on? Because we can. Read our Top 5 reasons Arie should be the next Bachelor here.
