In the real world it’s been over two months since Nick Viall got his heart handed to him instead of the Final Rose on Season 10 of The Bachelorette, but since the show's finale just aired, the wound is still fresh in our minds. So it’s hard to imagine Nick bouncing back in full bloom and being in charge of doling out flowers to a Bachelor Mansion full of womenfolk. But then again, maybe that’s just what he needs to get over his love-making partner, Andi Dorfman.

The titleholder for the The Bachelor 2015 has yet to be announced, so right now it’s still anyone’s game. But would Nick even want the chance to be on the other side of the podium if given the opportunity? In an interview with ET, Nick answers that question with a resounding maybe.

“Anyone would be flattered to even be considered,” he says. But. “I would have to talk to my family. I mean, I don’t know. I mean, I would have to make sure like my heart is open and ready for that in fairness to myself and those other people.” (By "those other people," he means the women who could never live up to Andi’s hold on Nick’s heart.)

Host Nancy O’Dell then asks, “But they haven’t approached you yet?” Um, negatory, Nancy. Awkward.

“No,” says Nick. “They haven’t said anything to me.” All Nick fans out there can commence weeping silently.

The suits at ABC don’t seem to be all that keen on considering Nick for the role in the face of such overwhelming fan support for the two frontrunners, Chris Soules and Arie Luyendyk, Jr. Oh, well Nick. Better luck next time, champ.
