We’ll always know Lorenzo Borghese best as the star of The Bachelor: Rome — a.k.a. Season 9, a.k.a. The Season That Gave Us Erica Rose.

Now 39, Lorenzo is also known for his strong support of animal welfare, including his involvement in many animal-friendly charities and his founding of Royal Pet Club, which includes the Royal Treatment Italian Pet Spa line of high end organic bath, body, and skin care products for pets.

To quote the Royal Pet Club site: “When Prince Lorenzo Borghese realized that many of the existing pet products on the market did more harm than good to his dog Belle, he went on a personal journey to develop his own pet-friendly product line. With the help of his family, one of Italy’s top human cosmetics manufacturer, world-renowned veterinarians, and other pet experts, Royal Treatment was eventually born in 2003. Made from the finest organic and natural ingredients, all product formulas are made with a pet’s health and happiness in mind.”

You can join the Royal Pet Club here. We have a soft spot for animal lovers and apparently we’re not alone. Back in August, there was a sad/funny blurb in the New York Post’s Page Six about Lorenzo’s (lack of) love life and the women drawn to his side:

“Lovelorn Prince Lorenzo Borghese fended off flirtatious women who hunted the newly single Italian heir at the Last Chance Animal Rescue benefit in the Hamptons this past weekend. Borghese, founder of canine grooming brand Royal Treatment and best known for his role on The Bachelor, was noticeably sullen as he and his girlfriend of one year, Olga Turrey, had split on Friday. News of his eligibility must have traveled fast, a spy said, as ‘Women were all over him. It was comical.’ Lorenzo said, ‘I wasn't in the best mood because we had just broken up.’"

Poor Lorenzo. But he had to know a “prince” who loves animals is “catnip” to women.
