For a good time, don't call the Parents Television Council.

The PTC just named its picks for best and worst TV shows, focusing on “the worst recent decency offenders.” The council monitors programs for profanity, nudity, sexual content and violence. We’d think it was run by Ned Flanders but the PTC named The Simpsons to the worst list for its “frank sexual dialogue.”

The council also went after Ben Flajnik’s The Bachelor Season 16. The premiere made the worst list for “trotting out troubling gender portrayals, language and sexual content.” (Was the trotting part because of the horse?) Everyone seems to drop the f-bomb this season and we know Ben and Courtney Robertson bare their birthday suits for America later in the season.

“Troubling gender portrayals” probably refers to the drunk, competitive ladies attacking each other in the name of anti-feminism. (Uh, is this their first time watching the show?)  It’s also possible the PTC didn’t like seeing Monica Spannbauer flirting with Blakeley Shea, even though it was kind of refreshing to see two girls actually getting along on The Bachelor.

But no worries, Bachelor is in good company. The council also has it in for such audience faves as American Idol and Dancing With the Stars, among others. Sorry, PTC... but these shows aren’t goin’ anywhere.
