If you know anything about 2013 Bachelor Sean Lowe’s backstory, it’s obvious that Sean is extremely close with his family. The Texas cutie spends a ton of time hanging out with his adorable niece, Kensington, and nephew, Smith.

Sean clearly adores the darling tots, but does that mean he’s ready to have kids of his own? Absolutely! (Though, maybe not right away.)

In a preview video for the Bachelor 2013 premiere, Sean can’t stop talking about his family. “When we hang out, it’s my sister and brother-in-law, my mom and dad, and I’m with my 2- and 3-year-old niece and nephew. That’s a really cool feeling, as an uncle, but I can only imagine how much that’s going to intensify once I have my own kids.”

And yes, having a family of his own is definitely part of Sean’s plans. “I want that. I want to start a family and just have a house full of love and laughter, and I want to spend my time hanging out with those that I love — which is my wife, and one day, kids. That’s what I want.”

Small caveat: Notice that he did say “one day.” In a recent interview with SheKnows, Sean reveals that he’d prefer to “take my time” when it comes to having children.

“When I get married, ideally, I think I would like to give it a couple years so that I can just enjoy being with my wife before we start having kids and introducing children to the family,” he said.

In summary, Sean Lowe will probably make one of the greatest dads ever. Just don’t expect him to make the leap into fatherhood right away.
