Looks like Ellen DeGeneres is having a change of heart when it comes to Bachelor contestant Courtney Robertson. Well, at least she’s taking steps towards doing so.

Wetpaint Entertainment can exclusively reveal that Ellen has invited the Season 16 frontrunner to appear on her daytime talk show — and that Courtney is very close to saying yes!

How did it all come about? Well, during Ben Flajnik’s January 25 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ellen made it clear she was no Courtney fan. "She may be a lovely person and you're probably engaged to her,” Ellen told Ben, “But the thing is, the way that it was edited she came off not nice."

Now, Ellen is saying she wants to meet Courtney in person to decide for herself. “Ellen did extend an invitation for Courtney to come on the show,” a Bachelor insider tells Wetpaint Entertainment. “Courtney wants to do it. She wants to clear her name.”

Up until now, Courtney, who is currently one of Ben’s final three, hasn’t been able to defend herself from her critics. But her long-term ex-boyfriend as well as her best friend both spoke to us exclusively to contend that Courtney’s mean-girl persona is not accurate and is the result of editing on the show. In truth, they say, she’s a sweet, down-to-earth person who went on the show to find true love.

Right now, however, it’s less about if Courtney wants to do the show and more of a when. “The Bachelor producers are going to let her do it,” the insider adds. “Everyone agrees it would be a great idea. But it’s just a matter of timing. They may want to hold off until the finale airs and Ben and Courtney can do Ellen’s show together. Then again, they may let Courtney do the show by herself before the finale. Everything’s still being decided.”

While Ellen awaits to make her final judgement on the controversial contestant, we can say that Ellen is right about one thing: Ben and Courtney ARE engaged, as Wetpaint Entertainment exclusively revealed on Feb. 14, along with a first look at the ring. And whenever that interview does go down, she can be sure that we’ll tune in!
