We were shocked when Life & Style came out with a report on April 22 that Ready For Love Executive Producer Eva Longoria was dating contestant Ernesto Arguello. And even more than that, we wondered if this possible romance may have been reason for NBC to cancel the reality dating show after only two episodes had aired. But the way Eva tells it, the answer is a resounding No Way!
“WHAT?! AGAIN? Sorry guys, still not dating @ernestoarguello Who are these "sources"??” Eva tweeted in response to the story. And not to miss an opportunity to spin this rumor into gold for her doomed show, Eva followed it up with, “Sorry @ernestoarguello is NOT dating me, but u can see who he is dating on #ReadyForLove tomorrow night on NBC after #TheVoice!”
Her rep had a similar message, telling E! news, “"Eva is not dating Ernesto. She is friends with all of the guys and matchmakers from the show, but nothing further."
Okay, got it. So, then, what of reports that Ernesto has been seen leaving Eva’s house in the early morning, driving around with the Desperate Housewives star with her “head on his shoulder” and otherwise hanging out all over town? Well, Eva says they’re just friends. “Good friends, good times,” she posted on her WhoSay with a pic of herself and Ernesto out to dinner in NYC last week with Bobby Flay and stylist Robert Verdi.
Is your curiosity satisfied? Yeah, neither is ours. Here’s our real question: how innocent is everyone in this? Eva and Ernesto have hung out all over town and allowed themselves to be photographed in convertibles, at events, and at home. Does “oh, we’re just good friends” make sense then? It’s possible. But to go a little dark for a second, it all seems pretty plausible that Eva saw her great efforts withReady For Love going down the drain and possibly fed into this hysteria (what’s the equivalent of hysteria when few people care?) by fueling the rumors, visually.
After all, what would make people care about a show no one cares about? Scandal.
