With less than two weeks to go until his Jan. 7 debut, Sean Lowe is psyched. “Just saw a commercial for the Bachelor premiere,” he tweeted on Dec. 27. “Still can’t believe I’m the freakin’ Bachelor!”

It’s no surprise he’s shouting it from the rooftops, considering that, for a while there, he had to keep the good news to himself until ABC was ready to make the big announcement. After being chosen, however, Sean did quietly share his excitement with a few close friends, including Jessie Silver and her brother Clay — the two co-founders of Sean’s custom furniture and accessory company, Factory Girl.

So, how did he tell them he was about to become America’s most eligible single man and embark on three months of filming? Jessie filled us in. “First, he sat down with my brother and talked to him about it,” Jessie tells Wetpaint Entertainment. “They’ve been best friends for the past seven years.”

“After that, the three of us sat down in our warehouse,” she continues. “I was genuinely surprised, but also excited for him. It wasn’t originally something I had pictured him doing, but I saw what a positive experience doing The Bachelorette had been for him so I was really happy for him. I could see how much he wanted it.”

Now, says Jessie, she and her brother can’t wait to meet the lucky lady who captured Sean’s heart… whoever she may be!
