A Canadian Bachelor, eh?

ABC already had one in Jesse Palmer, a Toronto native, and Jillian Harris is known as the first Canuck Bachelorette. Several memorable Bachelor/ette contestants have hailed from up north — including Bachelor Pad veterans Jessie Sulidis and Justin “Rated R” Rego. But a whole version of The Bachelor just for Maple Leaf lovahs? Yep!

According to The Toronto Star, a Canadian version of The Bachelor will air on Citytv — which simulcasts The Bachelor from ABC — in fall of 2012. Chris Harrison was in Toronto on Monday, January 23, to launch a casting call for the main man himself.

“I know that’s kind of a Bachelor cliché, but he really has to come into this with good intentions of finding love, hoping to find love,” Chris said.

Sounds like a plan to us! The Bachelor has always been popular in Canada and it seems to be going great in the U.K. The Ukraine nabbed sexy Dancing With the Stars pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy as its first Bachelor last year and even though he didn't get engaged, we still loved watching the season online. As we see it, the more hot Bachelors in action the better! And maybe some of them will actually tie the knot.
