Kacie Boguskie has the lucky distinction of being one of the few women who get to vie for The Bachelor twice: once for Season 16 with Ben Flajnik and once for Season 17 with Sean Lowe. The fan fave chatted with The Leaf-Chronicle about both experiences recently.

She starts at the beginning, saying that she auditioned just for fun and didn’t even believe it when she was accepted. “I just laughed through the whole process,” she reminisces. “When they contacted me, I thought it was a joke. I was like, ‘Yeah, right.’”

Kacie thinks that fans loved her because they related to her. “At some time everyone’s had their heart broken. It’s not a character somebody’s playing, it’s you. Or it’s a version of you.”

And she admits that she fell hard for Ben. “I think I got caught up in the moment, because what people don’t know is you’re so disconnected when you’re on the show,” she reveals, alluding to the show’s quarantining of the contestants away from the rest of the world.

“The only thing you have to think about is that person, so you do kind of get caught up in this person, like, ‘Yes, this is all I want from my life!’”

And when Ben sent her packing, “it was like my world had fallen apart,” she says.

“But then you come back to reality.”

So she came emotionally-prepared when she agreed to come back for a second round, this time with Sean Lowe. She was eliminated earlier in the competition this time, but she bears no grudge. “I think it’s better that we’re friends,” she touts, adding, “I was like, ‘What time’s my flight? I’m ready to go home!’”

Now the Tennessee native is keeping active both with volunteer opportunities and in her church — and she’s even thinking about writing a book about eating disorders. Plus, she has a hot new romance! “I have the best boyfriend in the entire world now,” she gushes.

Looks like Kacie is doing better than ever post-Ben and post-Sean!
