The nail in Kacie Boguskie’s Bachelor coffin might just be the very things we love most about her: she’s down-to-earth, well-intentioned, and principled through-and-through. During The Bachelor Season 17, Episode 3, Kacie pulled Sean Lowe aside to give him a heads up about some drama brewing between two girls in the house (Amanda Meyer and Desiree Hartsock).

Sean was visibly taken aback by Kacie’s “meddling,” telling her to “stop acting like a crazy person.” This conversation, as Kacie’s fellow Bachelor Season 16 alum put it in her blog, put Kacie solidly back in the friendzone and out of the running for the final rose. Even host Chris Harrison could spot the lack of chemistry, writing in his blog that Sean was “looking for a reason to send Kacie home” because he just wasn’t feeling it. Right before the rose ceremony, Sean pulled Kacie aside and confirmed what they were both thinking: That they're better off friends.

Speaking exclusively with Wetpaint Entertainment, Kacie clears the air after her elimination, explaining Sean’s friendzone is exactly where she wanted to be. “I was ready to leave,” Kacie told us, adding, “I knew it wasn’t working. I was going to walk up and tell him, but I wanted to make sure it was a mutual decision. Things ended up working out for the best.”

If only all of our breakups ended that gracefully!
