Roberto Martinez has yet to go on record about his pre-Thanksgiving break-up with Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky — but Ali certainly has had her chance to tell her side.
Ali was on the cover of People magazine — with the cover words “Why I Left Him,” although it’s unlikely she chose that headline — and she’s answered a few public questions about Roberto in the past few months. But the most you could get out of Roberto is subtext from things he's tweeted — like sharing a quote from LL Cool J on Nov. 14: "Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely.” Or this re-tweet from Tony Dungy on Feb. 6: "There is no clearer showcase of your character than your relationships-the way you treat others and expect them to treat you." Who knows — this may be as vocal as Roberto ever gets about their split.
But now rumors have come out that Roberto will be the Season 17 Bachelor. If that’s true, he’d definitely have to break his silence and talk about what went wrong with Ali in their 18 months together, just as Emily Maynard has done about her split from Brad Womack. If you believe Us Weekly’s unnamed “source,” that idea has Ali "freaking out."
"Roberto has never shared his side of the breakup, and Ali is terrified about what he would say on the show and how she would come off," a source says.
However, despite Life & Style’s scoop and spoiler king Reality Steve’s confirmation, Us Weekly isn’t sure Hottie Dimples will be The Bachelor after all. A source close to Roberto told the magazine that Roberto is happy being out of the spotlight, but he hasn’t ruled out being The Bachelor. Both statuses can’t be right — so Ali may have herself all worried over nothing.
Either way, Ali knows Hottie Dimples would never say anything hurtful or damaging on the record … right?
