It's Wednesday and that means it's raining tabloid drama. Is it true? Is it false? Flip a coin! This week, Star Magazine claims The Bachelorette 6's Roberto Martinez was all set to sign up as the Season 17 Bachelor — but he turned down the offer so he could continue romancing "a stunning young model" named Kara Ramos.

According to Star, Roberto was introduced to Connecticut native Kara this past spring, through a mutual acquaintance in San Diego, where he lives. "There was instant attraction between Roberto and Kara," a "friend" tells Star. "He fell for her so hard that a little while after they met, he attended a wedding in Florida and then made a detour to Connecticut before heading home to the West Coast, just to see her. They spent a romantic weekend together and really cemented their budding relationship."

Oh, but the plot thickens! The friend says Roberto was offered $500,000 to do The Bachelor and, when reports came out in June that Roberto had signed on for the gig, Kara decided not to go ahead and visit him in San Diego.

Kara herself tells Star, "It's true we were together, but when I found out he was going to be the next Bachelor, I canceled my visit. It was really hard on me."

The friend further claims that Roberto felt so bad that he reimbursed Kara for her plane tickets. Maybe she should've just gone on The Bachelor herself, but Roberto reportedly decided that half a million still wasn't worth going back — and he bailed on the gig. (So maybe that's what his #ThereIsNoPrice tweet was about.)

So, according to Star, Roberto is out as The Bachelor and Kara has plans to move to L.A. to be closer to Roberto. Although if she really wanted to be close to him, she'd go the extra two hour drive to San Diego.

Do you believe this? Do you think the Sean Lowe For Bachelor campaign is so strong that now they have to find a way to eek out Roberto?
