At some point the "Who will be the next Bachelor?" guessing game has to end. But when? Well, chances are it'll be whenever spoiler king Reality Steve is given the scoop, which is usually just before ABC makes an official announcement. But when will that be? Probably late September.
Want details? Here's what Steve wrote in a recent post:
"The Bachelor doesn’t start filming until mid September and ABC won’t announce it until it can be in conjunction with Dancing With the Stars second episode. Well, DWTS starts Sept. 19th, so my guess is ABC will 'officially' announce the next Bachelor on the second episode, the 26th, with filming having started a couple days before. That’s exactly what they did for Brad’s season and this show is a creature of habit with the way they run their ship. Have we all forgotten last seasons chain of events already?
• I announced Brad was going to be the Bachelor on Monday, Sept. 20th.
• US Weekly had an 'exclusive' on Wednesday the 22nd that Brad was the next Bachelor.
• Filming started for Brad’s season on Sat. night, Sept. 25th
• Brad was 'officially' announced as the Bachelor during DWTS on Monday night, the 27th.
Expect more of the same this season. They are not even close to picking who they want as the 'Bachelor' yet, so no need to ask. No decision has been made. I mean, I can pretty much tell you that I’m 99% sure it’s going to be either Ames, Ben, or Ryan. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t one of those three."
One thing to keep in mind: Jake Pavelka wasn't officially announced as the Season 14 Bachelor until mid-October during a DWTS Season 9 Results Show. But long story short, look for a spoiler sometime in mid-to-late September about either Ben Flajnik or Ames Brown being the new Bachelor. It seems like the Mr. Sunshine talk has cooled down, no?
